Key Takeaways

    1. Fun is the real step three. If a habit is not enjoyable, you will drop it, so build joy in from the start.
    2. Wellness starts at home. You do not need a gym, a diet, or expensive gear.
    3. Create a wellness world. A room, a corner, even one chair kept sacred for rest.
    4. Small movements are magic. Five-minute chunks of movement or stillness compound into lasting habits.
    5. Add, do not restrict. Layer in fruit, a short walk, or a mindfulness minute instead of taking things away.
    6. Boundaries protect your five minutes. Guard the small pockets of time that keep you strong and energized.

0:00 The Three-Part Plan

[00:00:00] Dr. Christiane Schroeter: Welcome to the masterclass. Today you learn a three-part plan to kickstart your wellness from the comfort of home. Step one, create healthy habits that last, because a habit becomes a routine, and a routine builds momentum that leads to results. Step three may be the most important… reaching your goals while actually having fun. If it is not fun, we let it go.

1:07 The Story Behind the Mission

[00:01:07] Dr. Christiane Schroeter: Sometimes we look at a person and think they are doing well, but inside the story is different. In my twenties I had very little energy, my weight kept fluctuating, and I had daily digestive issues, sometimes lying on my office floor. My confidence was low. When I met my husband, he accepted me and simply listened… and having one person who understands is often the first step. That is part of why I became a health coach.

3:31 The Aha Moment That Changed Everything

[00:03:31] Dr. Christiane Schroeter: Here is my aha moment. I realized I could not put my health on the back burner any longer. So I added self love and made time for wellness, and it filled my cup. My energy returned, my digestion cleared, and most of all I grew confident. I now look at those old struggles as the very thing that lets me help you through yours.

5:10 Step 1: Create Your Wellness World

[00:05:10] Dr. Christiane Schroeter: Step one is to create your wellness world at home. If you work from home, work never really ends… one room flows into the next. So make one space sacred. It can be a corner, or even a single chair with a cup of tea and your eyes closed. Keep it clear of laundry and toys, so when the day gets stressful, you know exactly where to go.

8:02 Permission to Pause for Five Minutes

[00:08:02] Dr. Christiane Schroeter: In your wellness world, I give you permission to withdraw anytime. We go too hard on ourselves with go, go, go. You can sit for five minutes, and you will not miss anything. Put the phone down. Look at your teacup, open a book, close your eyes, draw, or listen to music. Whatever sparks joy.

8:51 Step 2: The Magic of Small Movements

[00:08:51] Dr. Christiane Schroeter: Step two is the magic of small movements. Chunk your day into five minutes and set a timer. You do not even need to change clothes. Stretch on a yoga mat, lift light weights, or roll out your back on an exercise ball. Keep doing these small chunks and five minutes becomes a habit. One step at a time.

10:17 Step 3: Add, Do Not Restrict

[00:10:17] Dr. Christiane Schroeter: Step three is to reach your goal and have fun by adding instead of restricting. Add pre-cut fruits and veggies to the fridge. Add a five minute walk to your wellness world. Add quick meals and a mindfulness minute. Then protect it with healthy boundaries, because there is always something else you could do with those five minutes. Guard them anyway.

12:21 From Dirt Lot to Oasis

[00:12:21] Dr. Christiane Schroeter: Picture a dirt lot outside your window, bare and intimidating. That is wellness at zero. Now close your eyes and picture it full of flowers, a fountain, a bench in the shade. How do you get there? You buy a few flowers one week, a few more the next, maybe a little bench later. Small movements are magic. Wellness does not require a scale, a restrictive diet, or expensive gear. Start planting your seeds today.
